We are looking to hire a
 
Biotech IP Specialist (m/f/d)

 
The position is a permanent position in full-time. You will be working at the interface between different research departments, the legal department as well as Heidelberg Pharma’s business development. In your role as VP Intellectual Property your work will entail all IP-related aspects in relation to the synthesis and production processes of linker payloads of antibody-drug conjugates, as well as the handling of preclinical and clinical patent portfolios. 
Location: Ladenburg near Heidelberg or home based with regular visits to Ladenburg.


As Biotech IP Specialist you will overall be responsible for:

  • Processing invention disclosures, drafting patent applications and supervising examination procedures in close collaboration with the technical departments and/or outside counsel
  • Conducting Freedom-to-operate analyses
  • Monitoring third-party property rights, including opposition/appeal proceedings
  • Reviewing planned publications
  • Working closely with the company's business development and legal departments

Your profile

  • You are a qualified European and international patent attorney, preferably you are also a German patent attorney
  • You have a university degree in biochemistry, pharmacology or organic chemistry with a good knowledge of biology and ideally knowledge of antibody-drug conjugates.
  • Work experience in industry or in a biotech company is a plus, but not required, at least 5 years
  • You have strong communication skills, enjoy working in a team and are comfortable collaborating across different management levels.
  • You have strong analytical skills and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, in particular fluency in written and spoken business English are a must, German skills are preferred
  • You are not opposed to occasional business travels

About us

As a medium-sized company based in Ladenburg near Heidelberg, we place great importance on an open and collegial work environment.
